The Iranian cell planned attacks in Kuwait, Minister says (Reuters)

KUWAIT (Reuters)-the Foreign Minister of Kuwait, said: last year, the Gulf Arab State were complemented by the Iranian spy cell to monitor the US military presence and resources explosives to bomb the "strategic" facilities. "We are talking about the cell, which was only to keep track of and store (u.s.) military presence, which is in their opinion, the hostile forces, State-of-the-art-American presence in Kuwait of a catch are landed either in-but it exceeded," Sheikh Mohammad al-Salem al-Sabah told the Dubai-based Al-Arabiya television.

"They had explosives and the intention to explode vital facilities in Kuwait. They were the names of the officials and had very sensitive information. This indicates a bad intentions to harm the security of Kuwait ".

Bahrain's Sunni rulers crushed the protests last month in the capital and the introduction of the meeting of the security forces in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates sets the calling card.

Bahrain's Sunni unnerved the rise of neighboring countries, in particular in Saudi Arabia, who feared that the protests might spread and embolden the oil-producing Eastern Province's disgruntled Shi'ites.

It said they had been accepted by President Barack Obama and would allow the "precision" of the military operation.

The new Chief of staff of the United States already is used as the target of the xeno Pakistan Afghanistan border area of Egypt.

Libyan rebels were Christopher Col al-Gaddafi forces after February, but recently made a little workflow.

"President Obama has said that if we have some unique features, he is ready to use them," Gates told the news conference.

He said the two armed, unmanned predators were available, NATO is required and marked with a "modest to promote" military operations.

It should be blocked, the deployment of the mission was to "drone creep" in Libya, and said the evidence was still not going to put us on the ground "in Libya" boots.

"No wiggle room," he said.

Gen James Cartwright, Vice Chairman of puolustushaarakomentajien, said the first operation had taken place on Thursday, but turned back because of bad weather.

He said the new xeno-which can fly at a lower than normal fighter jets-was "clearly the nature of the urban areas," to provide greater visibility for tanks and other possible items.

What should do the United States on the Middle East?

Is it possible America is about to reap what it has sown in the Middle East? There is no sense discussing or non-Iraq war was a stupid war started by a President with an axe to grind. It is the past, this is what it is.

Instead, America had better quickly get its act together and develop a plan that deals with how to handle the current unrest and the overthrow of the dictatorships in the Middle East. This response plan should be prepared without emotion, finger pointing or along party lines, we may be fighting for our existence.

United States brought down the dictatorship of Saddam, good or bad, that it is passed and with it the only deterrence and threat to the Iran gaining complete control over the Middle Eastdominated Muslims.

Overthrow of the Tunisia of his ' dictatorship has led to political unrest and violence throughout the region with the Egypt being the most recent and the most dangerous situation for the interests of the United States. It is quite possible a dominated Islamic radical Middle East could quickly begin a complete takeover of America by turning off the oil tap.

Hatred United, American, Muslim Middle East with the Iran handle the scenario together behind the scenes would not cave and turn back oil that it is a Jihad and their foot on our throat.

There is little debate that should be members of the force to obtain concessions from the enemy to return the flow of oil. Based on this hypothesis we will look at the current military situation, in that we find ourselves.

Our army in Iraq is poorly prepared counter a whole attack from outside forces surrounding the Iraq. Troops, although the best in the world, are exhausted from years of war and endurance of several rotations.

Our Forces in Afghanistan, which should have been removed years before we have repeated the error of the Russia, is unqualified and ill-equipped to fight the war of desert. It is not so the troops could not be reequipped and adapt to the war of the desert, but logistics is huge and sparse time.

We have thousands of soldiers stationed in Korea separating the crazy North Korean dictator, but of South Korea. South Korea is a great economic power which should be able to fight his own case of attack. Why continue to play the nurse? If the South Koreans need help, let them turn to the Japan, which also has much to lose if the North Korea operates the war such as the South.

Organize, equip and recycling of these troops in a fighting force deserted effective would not attainable unless we were engaged in a prolonged war. The immediate effects of a complete oil embargo on the United States of still not a conflict long term on our part. As our soldiers, our army mechanized fuel (petroleum) running would be fighting without water. It cannot last long.

Then, how America should respond to this new threat? Initially, our leaders had better stop bickering about health care and give the case urges the attention it deserves.

The troops of the Afghanistan should be taken as soon as possible, but as orderly as possible to ensure the safety of our soldiers. Withdrawal of type Viet Nam would be catastrophic, we are not running, we will redeploy.

Korea troops should pull down to numbers Advisor original of the 1950s. Korea of the North should go crazy and return to the war, it would quickly lead to a nuclear holocaust, because it would be folly for saber rattling in actual conflict. The North Koreans would destroy rather on both sides of the country suffer defeat in a conventional war, our troops have, therefore, no useful purpose except to increase the number of body.

The United States should immediately Institute a project. Immediately, when talking about Washington D.C., means in the future, as a red band, government bureaucracy and political manoeuvring would delay the effective implementation of the programme.

However, the announcement of a such action would show for Middle Eastand the rest of the world, the United States provides the plan to destroy America and is ready to implement all the means it considers necessary to protect our country.

What makes backbone bandwidth within the meaning of most of the networks in Africa, Middle East and Latin America?

In view of the available in each region network infrastructure... What bandwidth solution make the most sense (and why) for the design of network solutions to meet the needs of business voice/data?

It is a difficult question to answer, in view of the challenges faced by each region. The reality may be that there is no easy answer. There is no "one size fits all the" which covers all of these regions at a time. So that everyone must be treated separately and distinctly to have any chance of success.

Some of the factors to be considered likely considered important would include business (e.g., type of business, number of locations in the network) technology (e.g., copper, fibre, terrestrial wireless link) economic (financing, King of implementation, budget), political (e.g. a stable government)(services nationalized, free market encourages entrepreneurship) and regulatory (e.g. the Government restrictions, limitations of international connectivity internal).

For example [...] is a viable based DS3 solution for multisite WAN network in Nigeria? T1 for a single to the Brazil location? Ethernet for campus LAN in Bahrain?

These regions of the world are also commonly called "developing countries", which is generally true of their infrastructure and included communications infrastructure.

Emirates of the Persian Gulf... and to some extent to the Brazil (in the large metro areas) are.... well developed, and you can expect the same telecom services to some extent as in the USA and Europe.

Moreover, the availability is rare and inconsistent.

For this reason for many developing countries are focusing on cellular communications with the intention of "jump" the wired infrastructure development completely. For example the based on direct satellite, such as VSAT service. There is of course the question of the time with this approach which will affect voice and high-l'interactivité, so if the delay is an important factor, you need to consider the use of most (not sure that what becomes of them) or of other satellites to low Earth orbit.

Before digging into the technical aspects for a Middle East or African network infrastructure one should consider the political situation. Most of these countries still have their local telephone companies owned Government. At best, they are a monopoly by the political powers and the local rich people. Once you get the right people, these countries are adopting it more leading and bleeding of advanced technologies. Customers in these areas are more prone to using the "later - & - greatest" essentially for reasons of novelty. Ultimately, it does not matter why clients subscribe as long as the business is!

In Africa, there had been some improvements in submarine terrestrial connectivity, but that doesn't help much to reach specific locations and providing return. In the same way VSAT was the traditional solution in Africa and in other remote regions, but the proliferation of WiMax generates increasing problems of interference. This is compounded by the unpredictable nature of the licences and controls. In my view, that Latin America was very much in General improved access provision but quality and cost is still difficult to predict and manage. Middle East , much investment was and unfolds.... but here the biggest obstacle tends to be regulatory and the absence of a market open for supply.

A true "response" is possible only by a detailed and prospects for telecom study and the availability of existing infrastructure in each region. For this purpose the following factors should be considered;

Technology...

This type of prosecution all depends on the types of services offered (as fixed voice or cellular, leased circuits for WAN, broadband, Triple Play, IPTV, etc.), users (e.g., number of users, individual or corporate, dispersed or concentrated), service coverage and infrastructure of the network backbone available (e.g., OFC network with PDHSDH)(, DWDM or MW via PDH, SDH)... then we might be able to forecast bandwidth backbone, evaluate existing available infrastructure improvement plan if necessary, select technology and estimate investment. In short, the answer is that T1, DS3 and OC3 bandwidth meaning if the infrastructure of the line is readily available for a tie in. Fiber is better logic (ethernet) if the grid is easily available and taken in charge. If any of these are reasonably available in quantities that VSATS will continue as the solution of choice with tie in minimum structure of hard line "nodes" where it is present.

Economic and business....

To prepare a model of business, the factors include need to spending, OPEX, van, and sorting, income based on the ARPU for a particular service, taxes, licence fees, the rate of Inflation, declining ARPU because of competition expectedlast connectivity mile for client corporatifet of contingencies in licenses and approvals and implementation of the project. This category seems to be the most self limiting on any challenge to the technology.

Regulatory / Administrative (political)...

The concerned administrative factors would be different for each region... as monopolistic regime and political situations in Africa and environment partially deregulated in most of the countries of the Middle East ... normally a licence is a delicate task in many countries.

For each of the listed regions (Africa, Middle East, Latin America).... based on your analysis by factors above.... you will find that a realistic solution may be that a hybrid of technologies would be necessary. For example, VSAT can offer a global network and be integrated in terrestrial networks (T1, DS3, OCx, fast ethernet) where feasible and available. Ultimately there is no single solution that corresponds to each scenario... you must be flexible and innovative to target the right solution for each situation on its own merits.

What to bring when moving to the Middle East for employment - ESL

You have accepted a job teaching in Middle East. Congratulations! There are several possibilities for teaching positions in Middle East when it is certified to teach English as a second language with an ESL or TEFL certification.

This article deals with the practical necessities that will facilitate the work of teacher in the Middle East. First of all be prepared with copies of important documents such as passport, visa (if applicable), contract, certificate of birth, diplomas and certificates. It is useful for one to arrive at least ten photos of passport of itself that this is not necessary for work permit official when it is necessary, the identity cards, driving licences and other activities. The forms are completed and provided with identity cards, to ensure that the names and information are properly registered. Spelling incorrect name or transpose many of his visa or work permit could result in processing time.

Because it can take weeks or even one month before full pay is received, plan to arrive with sufficient funds to maintain a for up to six weeks. These funds are useful for the acquisition of a local cellular telephone, internet connection, transportation and expenses associated with the establishment of a new home as grocery purchases.

When it accepted a teaching position in Middle East , the good news is that, in most cases fully equipped and furnished accommodation is provided. Certainly, that can give a sense of relief to find anything to prepare and plan to take. Second, everything one would want or need to place a House is available and are found in Middle East. So speaking more as a former senior diplomat, I would say that the following items for discussion to bring in air transport.

Naturally we want to feel comfortable and "at home" in their home. I strongly suggest bringing copies of favorite family photos to adorning walls or shelves. Copies are recommended instead of taking any risk of loss or damage to the original photographs. Other elements which fall within the category must generally include among the favourite souvenirs such as music or books. According to personal taste or language, it might be difficult to acquire the favourite music or books in some Middle Eastcountries ern. Remember also that if a book or CD cover has a picture risk on the cover, it is preferable to delete coverage of risking the element being confiscated at customs.

I also suggest that if there is a special pillow, sheets Favorites or element that your House would not be complete without, return it! Additional elements that are more personal in nature but useful to consider include the golf clubs or a small musical instrument.

If there are specific grocery products or brands you are not sure if are available in the country, will come and stock up and bring it back in. As an avid baker, I always sell you in marshmellow creme fluff, which is only available once a year in Saudi Arabia, for example.

Once you arrived, you will discover there are several malls and traditional souks where a House can be improved beautifully with furniture handmade, custom drapes and rugs and other attractive local decorations at little cost.

A useful resource is also http://www.teachmideast.com for more information on cities and customs to the Middle East.

The Gaza war and the collapse of moral Goldstones

By Ramzy Baroud

Shocking is not a sufficient term to describe Justice Richard Goldstones decision to recant parts of the report, 2009 on alleged war crimes in Gaza.

Document, known as the Goldstone report was drawn up after a thorough investigation, led by the South African judge and three other famous investigators. The documented 36 events during the isrælske Operation Cast lead an unprecedented violent attacks against small, impoverished and besieged Gaza. It resulted in more than 1,400 Palestinians dead and injured more than 5,500.

Goldstone is both Jewish and Zionist. His love for Israel have been broad and lovingly conveyed. In this particular case he seemed completely torn between its ideological and tribal position and its commitment to justice and truth, as enshrined in the mandate of the UN's Human Rights Council.

After 18 months, what seemed a totally personal introspection, accompanied by an endless campaign of pressure and intimidation of Zionist and quietly Jewish groups from around the world, the man finally surrendered.

"If I had known then what I know now, Goldstone report would have been another document," he wrote in the Washington Post on 1 April. But what Goldstone learn anew when he issued his 575-page report in September 2009?

Suspected is Goldstones rethinking a follow-up report issued by the UN's Committee, chaired by retired New York judge Mary McGowan Davis. Her report was not a resumption of Isræls — and Hamas — alleged war crimes in Gaza, but a follow up on the Goldstone Commission's findings, which called for the submission of the matter to the International Criminal Court. McGowan Davis made this distinction clearly in a recent interview with the Jerusalem Post isrælske. According to the speech, she said, "our work was completely separate from the (Goldstone) work". She further stated, "our mandate was to take his report as given and start from there."

So how a probe, used Goldstones conclusions as a starting point, went on to inspire such a larger back view from one of the authors of the original report?

McGowan Davis ' report acknowledges only that Israel has carried out an examination of a possible "operational misconduct" in the so-called largely outside Israel as the massacre in Gaza. The UN's follow-up report recognised the alleged 400 studies, but does not bear out of their validity. These secret investigations led actually to slightly in disciplinary measures.

More claimed the UN team of experts there was "no indication that Israel has opened investigations of them designed, planned, ordered and oversaw the Operation Cast lead actions."

Israel is in fact known for exploration of themselves, and also for almost always find all but its own leadership. Isrælske studies are an obvious mockery of justice. Most of their results as those that came a second study of the isrælske war in Lebanon in 2006, from the simply failure to win the war and explain the isrælske action to the world. They said little about investigates death and wounding of innocent civilians. Is this what Goldstone meant when he used the words "if I had known then what I know now"? And could this added knowledge of the Isræls secret — and the largely farcical — studies be enough to such extreme conclusions such as "civilians were not intentionally targeted as a matter of policy"?

This was the confidence in the isrælske argument, which attempted to reduce a persistent policy based on collective punishment — used controversial and even illegal weapons against civilians — to the injudiciousness of individual soldiers. Goldstones calculated variance is an adoption of "the isrælske position, any misdeeds during the attack Gaza was caused by individual deviants not of policies or rules for the use of force commissioned by the military leaders," according to George Bisharat, a professor at Hastings College of the law (as reported by the San Francisco Chronicle7. April). Bisharat added, "even the original report never accused Israel of widespread deliberate attacks on civilians, and thus the Goldstone to an allegation that had never been done. Most of its significant results remain uncontested. "

John Dugard, professor of law at the University of Pretoria and earlier the UN's Special Rapporteur on human rights in the occupied Palestinian territory will agree. "Richard Goldstone is a former judge and he knows perfectly well that a fact-finding report four persons, of whom he was the only one, like the judgment of the Court of first instance cannot be changed by subsequent reflections of a single member of the Committee.

Dugard, known for his principled in the past, is also known for his moral consistency. "It is sad that this champion of accountability and international criminal law should abandon the cause of such an ill-considered, but nevertheless extremely harmful op-ed," he wrote in the new statesman on April 6.

Not surprisingly, isrælske leaders gloating. "Everything we said was proved true," declared Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu answer on Goldstones moral collapse. New York Times reported on 5. April, Goldstone agreed to visit Israel in July during a phone call with Isræls interior minister Eli Yishai. "I will be glad to come," Yishai quoted Goldstone as saying. "I have always love for the State of Israel."

The fact is, Goldstones some of his rejection of the Commission's findings clearly have no legal validity. They are personally, and in fact the selfish motivated, and they prove that the political and ideological affiliations are of greater weight for Goldstone than human suffering, as well as international law and justice. There is no doubt, however, that will constitute the backbone Goldstones innovation in Isræls justification in its future attacks on Gaza. Goldstone, once regarded as an "evil, evil man" by a prominent Israel more in United States, sales argument for the Isræls future war crimes.

If the killing of more than 1,400 Palestinians is not a "policy", and the Hamas killings of four isrælere is "intentional" — as claimed by the Goldstone — then the sky is the limit for Isræls war machine.

In fact, "shocking" is not the right expression. "Shameful" may be more fitting.

On the basis of precedent, there is no reason whatsoever to support western intervention in Libya. From the French invasion of Egypt in 1798 onwards, every single western attack on an Arab country has ended badly and often appallingly for the local people.

The trumpet majors blowing the horns of war in Libya are David Cameron and William Hague, the voices of the British establishment. Hague insists that Muammar Qadhafi must forever leave the country where he was born. Who is William Hague to make such a demand? In Libya we are being asked to make a choice between two unacceptable choices, continuation of the government in Tripoli or its overthrow by the West. For, let us be clear about this, the rebels in Benghazi have no hope of overthrowing this government on its own, despite a month of air attacks by French, British and US aircraft, the firing of hundreds of Tomahawk missiles into Libya from US warships and the appearance in the rebel ranks of sophisticated new weapons. This breaches the provisions of UN Security Council resolution 1973, forbidding the provision of arms to anyone in Libya, not just the government in Tripoli. Now the British, the French and the US are planning armed intervention on the ground, in the name of humanitarian relief, but with the forces to be sent to Libya empowered to 'defend themselves' if attacked.

This operation is being planned in the offices of Catherine Ashton, the EU's 'high representative' for foreign affairs and security. Ashton has a tremendous capacity for standing in front of the cameras saying nothing of any importance to anyone. She is the worst regarded of all EU commissioners. She was appointed to the position with no experience in foreign policy and no qualification other than being Tony Blair's friend (he had her made a baroness). She now speaks for the EU in the Middle East quartet designed to 'mediate' with the 'peace process'. There is no 'peace process', of course. The quartet simply fusses around, and behind the appearance of doing something, actually does nothing but blur still further the reasons why there is no peace. Blair,   the man who helped deliver death and destruction to the Iraqi people on a massive scale, not once but twice (between 1991-2002 and from 2003 to the present) is the quartet's special representative. For such a sibilantly pernicious body, both appointments are entirely appropriate. The quartet effectively blamed the Hamas government for the Israeli onslaught of 2008 and Ashton deals only with Ramallah. She is talking of a Palestinian state by September, which, reduced to its essentials, means she thinks Mahmud Abbas can be persuaded to sign a scrap of paper selling out what he has not sold already by September. That is the extent of her commitment to 'peace' in Palestine.

Britain, France and the US are no friends of the Arab revolution. Caught off guard, they are scrambling to regain control. The US supported Mubarak to the bitter end. Only then did Hillary, with incredible but no more than usual gall, arrive in Cairo to proclaim that her government stood on the side of the people. Across the Middle East, behind the scenes, the US will be working hard to make sure that the more things change, apparently, the more they stay the same. In Egypt they will be working on and through General Tantawi, Mubarak's old ally and the head of the military transitional government. He is completely distrusted by the people who launched the revolution from Tahrir Square. The Americans are likely also to be negotiating with the Muslim Brotherhood, whose support for cosmetic constitutional changes rather than real ones ensured their endorsement through a national referendum. In the gulf the Saudis and the Khalifas of Bahrain are to be supported whatever their violations of human rights.

In the name of the same violations of human rights, Syria has to be confined, squeezed and subverted. Syrians are demanding the same democratic reforms as everyone else, and they have every right to do so, but it would be naïve in the extreme to think that Israel, the US and most probably the Saudis, operating through salafi groups, crossing the border from Jordan, are not trying to turn the Arab revolution into a missile aimed straight at the government of Bashar al Assad. Their intelligence services wouldn't be doing their job if they weren't involved. The downfall of the Ba'athist regime would a tremendous victory, for Israel in particular, splitting the strategic alliance between Iran and Hizbullah. The regime's enemies have wanted it for years, and now the Arab revolution is giving them the opportunity.

Libya is a particular case. Tony Blair brought Muammar Qadhafi out of the cold, so we are told. Actually, it was Qadhafi who came to Blair's rescue, by providing him evidence that there were weapons of mass destruction in the Arab world, or plans for making them, after all, and he, Tony Blair, had persuaded at least one Arab leader to give them up. In fact, while he had contemplated the possibility, and may have had plans, there was never any evidence that Qadhafi was developing nuclear weapons. Like Saddam, Qadhafi was someone the Europeans and Americans would deal with only for as long as he suited their purposes. In the 1980s Ronald Reagan tried to kill him and now the Arab revolution has given the west the opportunity to get rid of this irritant once and for all. Documents just released show that the Blair government, ahead of the invasion of Iraq in 2003, was in discussion with the oil companies about how the profits would be shared in the post-Saddam era. Blair's denial that oil had any effect on his decision to support the invasion was just another of his lies. Are his successors in government likely to be thinking any differently about Libya? Not likely. Recognising their avarice, the 'rebels' in Benghazi have quickly set up their own oil company, establishing the facade behind which the governments supporting them can get their hands on Libya's oil on terms to suit themselves – just like Iraq.

UNSC resolution 1973 was the thin end of the wedge. It has been widened progressively since it was passed. Initially setting up just a 'no fly' zone, its terms have been manipulated (in the name of protecting civilians) to include aerial attacks on government ground forces and installations and the provision of weaponry to the 'rebels'. Many civilians have been killed in the process. It is not all one way, as one might think from watching Al Jazeera or reading the London Guardian. Without NATO bombardment and the supply of weaponry from outside to the rebels (in clear breach of UNSC resolution 1973) this conflict would have long since ended. NATO involvement and the promise of a widening attack has ensured the continuation of fighting and has emboldened the rebels to strike positions which would otherwise be untenable. They have rejected offers of a ceasefire and negotiations coming from Tripoli and the African Union. They are demanding that Qadhafi leave the country, which, surely, should be the end point and not the starting point of negotiations. Unable to win this conflict on their own, the 'rebels' want NATO to win it for them, even if that means the entry of foreign troops into their country.

So, make your choice. A continuation of Libya as it was, with all its faults or something new and unknown imposed by governments which have dealt death and destruction to the Middle East for two centuries and have never intervened in the region except out of commercial and strategic self-interest. The rebels are brave, no doubt, but to get what they want they, their leaders in the 'transitional government' are prepared to sell their souls to the devil. Even now we don't know who all these figures are, but they include figures with Al Qaida and CIA connections. Try to think of how this situation might look in a year's time, if, against all odds, Qadhafi succeeds in holding on. Libya will effectively be divided. The oil terminals will be 'protected' by NATO  bombardment, pumping oil to the west in the name of the government established in Benghazi. While the fighting is going on  the governments of the UK, France, Italy and the US, and no doubt others, will be making arrangements with  Benghazi for the 'reconstruction' and  'redevelopment' of Libya's oil resources. (No doubt they are doing it already.) Because troops guarding sacks of flour will have been killed in shelling by 'Qadhafi's forces', it will have been found necessary to send in more troops, along with foreign contractors assigned to guarding  'key'  installations. Properly packaged, as it will be, the public will buy into this. Thousands of civilians will have been killed. Al Qaida of the Maghrib will be taking advantage of the chaos to create chaos of its own. Like Iraq, Libya will have been destroyed as a unitary Arab state. Whatever was decided in UNSC resolution 1973 will have long since been forgotten. It will have served and outlived its purposes. Dependent on the west, the government in Benghazi will be beholden to it. Libyans want democratic government, of course, and they want to get rid of Qadhafi, but is this the way to do it?

The killing of Vittorio (Vik) Arrigoni in Gaza this week follows (too) closely, the murder of pro-Palestinian peace activist Juliano Mer Khamis in the West Bank. Juliano, 52, was shot dead outside the Freedom Theatre in Jenin Refugee Camp on the West Bank on the 4th April. His documentary Arnas’s Children detailed the work of his mother in helping Palestinian children deal with the trauma of living under Occupation through the use of drama and self – expression.

Juliano untimely, bloody, end was one he had predicted three years ago on Israeli television.
Vittorio Arrigoni was found, this week, hung, by armed ‘fanatics’ in an apartment in Gaza. An end he would never, ever, have predicted.

There was worldwide condemnation for the killing of both men.

For friends of Vik, touched forever by his deep, smile filled voice, the pain of loss is made more acute by two factors. The first is the brutal manner of his death. For, Vik, was a gentle giant. A Samson in size and appearance, black curly hair about his rugged face. His arm muscles, there to scoop up a passing child, or wave the Palestinian flag at a moments notice, in the face of Israeli sniper fire, aimed at farmers attempting to harvest crops, or at fishing the coastal Gazan waters. That a man dedicated to non violent resistance should die in violence is bad enough.

Worse, far worse is this; that his avowed enemies the ‘Fascisti’ in Israel (as he would call the government there) seek to make political gains from a life lived in direct challenge to them. This, as much as the sight of that last, dreadful film showing his eyes taped and his face bruised, is a knife in the heart of all who loved or knew of him.

The headline ‘Italian peace activist killed by Palestinian extremists’ is an Israeli propagandists wet dream. A gift as potentially large in its political implications as the now inevitable retraction by the UN of the Goldstone report.

Why?

Two reasons. firstly, if nothing is done, and fast, Israel will use the momentum of these two machinated events, as an excuse to re-invade the Gaza Strip under the auspices of ‘terrorism and security’ issues.

Secondly, Israeli is seeking to end the growing momentum of the siege breaking movement and the increasing appeal of the ISM (International Solidarity Movement).

Which brings us to timing of both Juliano and Vittorio’s murders. Both men were respected for their creative work. Juliano, for inspiring a new generation of actors and writers in Jenin and for his film making on the subject of life under Occupation.  Vik for his award winning writings and broadcasts, on the suffering of the Palestinians in Gaza.

Both men were part of a new uprising, arguably, the most successful yet. The uprising that hurts Israel where it hurts most - in the TV studios of Europe and the US, right in the intelligentsia. Their impact on the Israel ‘fascisti’ machine was a phenomenon in the expanding worlds of twitter and facebook. They had voices like no others in this movement.

More, though. Vik was pivotal in the reformation of the ISM Gaza Group, the non violent resistance team, put on hold after the murders of two of its members by Israeli forces; Tom Hurndall and Rachel Corrie. After it became clear that Israel’s leaders had taken the decision not only not to ignore the human rights of internationals in the West Bank and Gaza (thus putting them on a par with Palestinians), but to actively target them. The ISM in Gaza took time to consider whether it could encourage, young activists to join them on the ever increasingly mission to accompany Gazans about their daily business. Human shield work. Tom Hurndall and Rachel Corrie’s deaths were part of a dedicated attack by Israel on the work of the increasingly effective ISM.

More recently, IOF commanders have been focusing their attention on the Freegaza Movements efforts to break the siege of Gaza by sea.

It is no coincidence then that both Juliano and Vittorio should die within two weeks. Both, at the hands of unknown Palestinian ‘cells.’ As they say on children’s TV - tell us boys and girls what’s wrong with this picture?

Israel’s supporters will doubtless feel affronted at the assertion that Vittorio was murdered by those almost certainly in the pay of the Jewish State. But they can’t have their dark ops cake and eat it too. Not this time. Too many of us have our eyes open to the filthy tactics employed by Israel every time they come under intellectual attack. And there is no doubt that Israeli Apartheid is losing traction by the day.

Still unsure who was behind Vittorio’s murder? Well, how often have the Israeli press lauded and applauded ‘covert ops’ in the Occupied Territories? Want some examples? Fine. In 1952, Shin Bet agents were sent undercover to spy inside Palestinian villages. Ten Jewish men assimilated into Arab communities in the early 1950s, marrying local women and starting families with them, were, all the while serving in the Shin Bet as "mistaarvim," literally- masqueraders. The men learned the Palestinian dialect, studied the Quran and espionage techniques in an Intelligence Corps base near Ramla. With a detailed cover story, they were sent into Palestinian villages and cities pretending to be refugees from the Nakba returning home.

Just this year, Israel has carried out an assassination in Dubai of a Hamas member (or as it was known in the British media - the ‘passports scandal’).

More recently, Mossad operatives have kidnapped a Palestinian engineer from the Ukraine, who is now, illegally held in an Israeli prison.

And what of the sadistic coercion that Palestinians with chronic illnesses have been subjected to by Shin Bet? Known in Gaza as treachery for treatment? A Palestinian patient requests a permit from the Israeli- Palestinian Civil Liaisons Department to be allowed to travel from Gaza to the West Bank or Israel for an operation. After exhausting efforts, patients receive permits and go to Erez. Prominent human rights centres report that Shin Bet officers, then attempt to coerce and entrap patients, to do dirty work for them in their home towns and villages in return for rapid and/or ongoing medial treatment.

Yes folks, spies-for-health.

Israel then, ‘has form’ when it comes to lying, murdering, and coercion, for its own ends.

As Hamas rounds up the perpetrators of this most recent, deadly crime, the Gaza grapevine is buzzing with the news that they will indeed be found to be, (as suspected from the get-go), Israeli collaborators.

Statements of denial from the ‘Salafis’ accused of the murder have already been issued. Despite the fact the Western media is still running with the story of their guilt.

There were statements from Tawid wal – Jihad and Ma’sadat al-Mujahedin  An excerpt from a statement read, “we strongly deny any responsibility for or connection to the kidnapping of the Italian (Vittorio Arrigoni)… Our statements are distributed exclusively through Shoumouk al – Islam, Attahadi Network and the Ansar al-Mujahideen Network…Any statement attributed to us that are not released through these channels, have nothing to do with us, even if they are published on Jihadi websites…”

So, who benefits from the killing of Vittorio Arrigoni? And what is the significance of the timing of his murder?

Israel.

Sure, the kidnappers’ video looked genuine at first. It had all the customary layout of the kind of ‘Jihadi’ videos that the tabloid press loves: the black flag of Islam, the Quranic verse in the introduction, footage of the kidnapped victim. But a small detail on the black flag, underneath the precious, Islamically untouchable phrase ‘There is No God, but God’ raises questions about the authenticity of the groups grasp on Islam. The extra words read something like “the Brigades of Muhammad Ibn Maslama.” This has been hard for experts to verify because the video is being systematically pulled off YouTube. But one thing is certain;

‘Jihadis’ never write ANYTHING on the flag besides La Ilaha Ila Allah.

Also unusual, was the lack of customary logos of the Jihadi media distribution channels: Shoumoukh al-Islam, Ansar al-Mujahideen, Global Islamic Media Front, etc.

You know what, right now, who cares?

Vik; friend, solidarity activist, hero, author, is dead and his enemy is making gains from his life. A life dedicated to the opposition of Israeli Fascism.

So what can, what should be done, must be the focus now, not only of his friends, but of all those who support the cause of Palestinian justice.

It was in 2008, as a passenger of the Freegaza, that Vittorio arrived in Gaza for the first time. I had the pleasure of being one of the activists arriving, alongside him on that day. During the weeks preceding the successful crossing all of the passengers had considered Israel’s possible tactics for stopping a sea channel from effectively opening up. Two options seemed most likely.

A massively violent boarding of the ships, incurring several deaths that would act as a warning to other potential voyagers not to sail

The option, I feared most. The use of on-the-ground collaborators to do Israel’s dirty work for them. A network of paid for ‘cells’ who would pick off activists one by one in the Gaza strip. Thus, both terrifying the solidarity movement AND providing Israel with some much needed beneficial headlines of the kind we have seen since Vik’s death.

We know all to well, the bloody massacre that took place last year on the Mavi Marmara, committed by Israeli forces.

Now, as the second Armada plans to chart the same course on or near the anniversary of that sailing, Israel is pulling out all the stops, in its efforts to stop, frighten, threaten and deter, hundreds more activists from taking action against their Apartheid state.

Israel's ambassador to Turkey, Gaby Levy, has just asked the Turkish government to help halt the flotilla movement saying their sailing would be a "provocation." Asked about the pressure, a Turkish foreign ministry official told Reuters: "We listened to the message given by the Israeli side and told them this is an initiative by civil society."

The official did not elaborate.

Strike one, for Israel.

But the efforts continued.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on EU ambassadors in Jerusalem saying "This flotilla must be stopped.”

And there’s more. On April 1, Netahyahu's office asked UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to stop the flotilla setting sail.

Netanyahu told Ban Ki-moon that the mission of ships was being organized by (guess who folks?) "Islamic extremist elements" intent on bringing about "a flare-up."

Then, on Wednesday, the morally bankrupt, Silvio Berlusconi, told Israel Radio, that he would work to prevent the next flotilla bound for Gaza, from sailing.

Berlusconi said that a peaceful Middle East is farther from reality now than it ever has been before, adding that Israel has no viable peace partner. He even asserted that Israel is the only Middle Eastern country that the West can trust, and that Israel should join the European Union.

The next day, Vik was kidnapped.

The same night, before any realistic negotiations could take place for his release, Vik was murdered.

Feeling sick yet? Yeah, me too.

Because this was a hit. A hit carried out to intimidate, to frighten off those who have already signed up for the next flotilla to Gaza and may be traveling there for the first time, those unsure of the exceptional good will and generosity of the people there. A good will Vik would tell you about.

If he were still here.

We mustn’t let the Israeli ‘fascisti’ succeed in their latest terror tactic. Early signs are that for all the pain Vik’s death has caused, all the tears that have flowed. that we, in the solidarity movement will only grow more determined, in light of this crime.

Since his death the ISM has reported a sharp rise in people wanting to go to Palestine.

Meanwhile, a Freegagza Movement contact, tells me that no one from the next convoy expected to include Turkish, Algerian, Scottish, Spanish, Dutch, Irish, Italian, Swedish, Norwegian, Jordanian, Malaysian, Indonesian, Swiss, US, Canadian, British and French nationals, has pulled out as a result of Vik’s murder.

And now, the incredible news comes: Vik’s own mother will sail to Gaza on the next flotilla.

Agidea Prata told Italian news sources yesterday; “I want to see (the) Gaza that my son loved and sacrificed for, I want to meet the good people living there that my son Vik always talked about”.

Vittorio’s mother knew about the death threats Vittorio received from a right wing American group on their website. She also knew that he loved the people of Gaza with every ounce of his formidable strength, with his every smile, and his every waking moment.

Yesterday, organizers of the Free Gaza flotilla announced that the coming voyage to Gaza will be named “Freedom Flotilla – Stay Human” in honor of our fallen friend, Vittorio Arrigoni.

Now it’s time for the Palestinian leaders to pay a decent tribute to this great man. No. Scratch that. As Vik himself would say; it’s time for them to pay a decent tribute to ALL the fallen Palestinian martyrs.

What a great day it will be if in June, Agidea Prata, Vittorio’s mother, sails to Gaza to be met by a single, united, government.

Imagine it Vik. Abbas and Haniyeh side by side. One Palestine, one voice. One government able to stop Israel from infiltrating their midsts and murdering those who come in hope and solidarity. As my dear, wonderful, strong, funny, friend, Vik would say

‘Come ON!’

UN calls on Iraq to attack Iranian opposition to the probe team (Christian Science Monitor)

Baghdad, Iraq – United Nations called on Iraq to save the tapot of the Iranian people to an independent study of 34 opposition base after the Iraqi authorities, who authorised the camp suggested the RAID on April 8, the members of the group can run on your own.

Wildly conflicting accounts of how members of the people's Mujahideen Organization of Iran (PMOI) prosessoitiin is highlighted, as well as its predecessors, the former Director of Iraq's Saddam Hussein and the United States invited by the disarmed a group of the last remaining stronghold.

Late Saturday, the UN said in a statement it expected the Commission promised an independent investigation of the Government of Iraq. Planned by the Government of the prime Ministry and of the Commission includes the Iraqi army officials and a cross-section of political parties, and it is unlikely that requirement.

MONITOR QUIZ: Weekly News quiz-April 10-16

Iraqi Government spokesman Ali Dubbagh said earlier this week that some of the dead were likely to be carried out to try to prevent them from leaving the campsite managers.

Adviser to the Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, Saad al-Matalabi, said the tests, criminal investigations, which included experts from the US is filled with the bodies to determine whether the medical group, the provisional findings were correct.

"They were shot execution-style," Mr. al-Mutalibi told the monitor. "The first medical reports stated they shot very close to the area – packaging of wounds was found."

He also said, they seem to be shot, instead of on the one hand, and the weapons that the Iraqi army used by the guns.

Camp Ashraf is the deadly April 8 raid

The UN earlier this week confirmed it had seen 28 bodies in the camp, and six other business knew. It said dozens more had been injured before the dawn of April 8 after Iraqi forces moved in with a huge base 70 Miles North of Baghdad as part of the recovery.

It said in a statement that it had repeatedly called on the Government to refrain from the use of force in Iraq.

The Iraqi Government said at the outset, the three members of the PMOI was killed in a military operation and said they had crushed the vehicles move. It denied that the Iraqi soldiers had fired at demonstrators trying to stop the soldiers from moving to the area, which houses the organizationâ € ™ s cemetery. Speaking to reporters after the deck to camp Ashraf but denied speaking to the members of the Iraqi army in the Baltic Sea camping site family Heide officials appear slingshots and home-made weapons, which they said had been used to attack the PMOI Iraqi soldiers. Women, they said, had tried to gouge eyes of soldiersâ € ™.

Released by group, heavily edited and impossible to verify, the video shows the Iraqi soldiers, firing weapons in the show, as well as the crushing some of the demonstrators, the battle of the vehicle. The second video released the bodies of the PMOI, many of them women, wrapped in white sheets and the Deputy Minister within the camp as the layout of lines in the street showed last week.

Iraqi officials say nearly one-third of the more than 3,000 people in camp Ashraf is foreign passports, including the Americans, and many Europeans. There was some doubt about whether they are among the dead. Some diplomats say, the number of foreign passports is much smaller, even if a thousand residents of the camp in the Western countries have ties.

US considers PMOI terrorist offences

The United States considers a terrorist organization but is the PMOI, said in the past, it is returned from the bar, where they are not personally wanted the members of the legal authorities. Although Iraq has made clear that it intends to shut down the camp before the end of the year, such as the Organization for security and cooperation in Europe of members of the cult, to refuse to leave, and other countries are reluctant to take them.

The Iraqi Government has been intense pressure on Iran years to close the camp.

Camp Ashraf was invited by Saddam Hussein of Iraq will launch attacks on Iran in the 1980 's the Organization's main military base.

after they agree to renounce tykistöä and tanks in the United States in the protection and designation of non-combatants will be in exchange for the hostilities continue. But the US Army in Iraq to be handed over to the camp when the took responsibility for safety throughout the country two years ago.

In the United States, which is reluctant to publicly criticize the Iraqi authorities, has said it "applies to" the deaths in the report.

Clinton urges immediate dialogue on the Middle East (AFP)

WASHINGTON (AFP)-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has called on Israel and the Palestinians to resume dialogue without delay, even as turmoil roils region.

The two parties "are trying to analyse what this means for their future position," Clinton told PBS television.

But "I hope--and President (Barack) Obama has stated that he will continue to press both sides, which is what we think we have to do--that all would realize that the negotiations are the only way, but more than is an immediate need."

Clinton stressed that "it is in both the isrælerne and the Palestinians, even in the midst of everything happening in the region, to try to turn off the hard work in the best interests of" negotiate a solution.

The last U.S. effort to jumpstart isrælsk-Palestinian dialogue on a two-State solution have been deadlocked since September as Israel refuses to freeze new settlements in the occupied territories.

But "we do not support any unilateral action by the Palestinians to go to the UNITED NATIONS to try to achieve some permit or approval voting with regard to the State, because we believe that we can only achieve the two State solution, which we strongly favour through negotiations," Clinton added.

Activists restart work after murdering Member Gaza (AFP)

GAZA city, Palestinian territories (AFP)-members of the pro-Palestinians International solidarity movement resumed their activities in Gaza Wednesday, days after the murder of an activist from the group.

Five members of the Organization gathered on a dock in Gaza City to restart work monitoring isrælske the treatment of Palestinian fishermen are seeking to exercise their craft a small strip of ocean off the coast of Gaza.

The checks were carried out often by Vittorio Arrigoni, an Italian member of ISM, who was found hanged last Friday, hours after his kidnapping by a radical Islamist Salafist Group.

Activists from Belgium, Italy and the United States, was joined by around 200 Palestinians to ceremony and observed a minute's silence in memory Arrigonis.

Flowers were also sprayed over five ships preparing to take part in the monitoring activity, as people waved Palestinian flags.

Inge Neefs, a member of ISM, said activity had been Arrigonis preferred way to show solidarity with the Palestinians.

"The idea is to have a human rights monitoring boat out in Palestinian water to document potential violations of human rights on the sea," she told AFP.

In the West Bank mourned Palestinian Prime minister Salam Fayyad, in the meantime Arrigonis death at a Conference honouring non-violent protest against Isræls security wall in the village of Bilin.

"Kitten Arrigoni was a wounding blow for us and all international volunteers, but this great participation today assures us that the International solidarity movement is still strong," he said.

"Despite what happened, international solidarity with the us to continue," he added, noting the presence of dozens of foreign representatives at the Conference.

Arrigoni, 36, was a long time member of the International solidarity movement, and had been living and working in the Gaza Strip for much of the last three years.

A previously unknown radical group claimed responsibility for his kidnapping in a video that was posted online and showed Arrigoni, his face bloodied and removal and hands bound behind his back.

The Group demanded Salafist prisoners, including a senior leader of Salafi, and threatened to kill Arrigoni within 30 hours if their demands were not met.

Hamas security forces found his body shortly afterwards, prior to the specified time limit, in an abandoned house in northern Gaza.

Security forces in Gaza have so far arrested three suspects in the case. Another two were killed during a Tuesday raid in central Gaza.

Colonel n mouthpiece

on 1 April 2011, last updated 21: 49 ET By Jon Kelly Moussa Ibrahim BBC News Magazine in front of the daily occurrences of his media have made Moussa Ibrahim familiar. Information Minister al-Gaddafi was Col 15 years in the United Kingdom, but how much we really know about him?

His smooth, confident demeanour, crisp dress sense and thanks to English, he is the face that Tripoli wants to show to the rest of the beleaguered leadership.

Muhammad Saeed al-Sahhaf, Iraq's information Minister during the 2003 invasion, as the dolphin, the liability of the Comical Ali reg.HTA, his unlikely-Moussa Ibrahim has become familiar to millions under the main fire.

But Ibrahim is not fun, to try to discredit the image of his Icy Libyan woman, who told foreign journalists he had been raped by members of the Government Militia.

His laconic, quietly determined to give him a delivery does not normally associated with the Al-Gaddafi and his associates even if his status is reflected in his rapid expansion from the Unknown information Minister Government spokesman gravitas.

What British audiences watching can be realised is that this al-Gaddafi, the Advocate General in his neatly trimmed goatee Beard and open-neck shirts, had 15 years of his training in the UK with the forbidden.

Ibrahim, who has a German wife and young son, studied at the University of Exeter in politics at the beginning of the 21st century and worked in media art, Royal Holloway, University of London, Completing his final exam may 2010 PhD-even if he is formally received the doctorate as the supervisory authorities of the small number of the pending changes to his thesis.

Those who knew him in his student days is a general term used to describe severe, friendly but short-tempered young man, who caused a diplomatic incident the University attract ice voyage and throwing attentions of the police of the incident.

Moussa IbrahimIbrahim escaped narrowly, causing a diplomatic crisis in Jordan during a visit to Exeter student

"I have lived in London for 15 years," he told Sky News recent interview. "I know every street in London. I know how the British people are decent. "

Born in 1974, the Al-Gaddafi's Qadhadhfa tribe, Ibrahim did not benefit from the same clan as in dictator, coupling, which is facilitated by the Office of the State payroll, he competed in the 1936 Summer Olympics.

One of his former home in Libya to remind the visitor of his family, was himself busy in the street and enjoy the level of wealth is visible.

Dr Larbi Sadiki, lecturer at Exeter, who teaches him the statue, recalled Ibrahim-friendly but serious student-"a nice guy, but short-fuse".

According to Dr. Ibrahim asked him to resign Sadiki's connections to the Al-Gaddafi, even if the student does not have the secret to his or her loyalty to his clan in support of the dictator or his or her son Saif. "He had to protect the dynasty, and is currently being cultivated to serve it," the academic mind.

Dr Sadiki, says Ibrahim, despite knowing he joined the courses, the teacher was a critic and an advocate of al-Gaddafi, political reforms in the Middle East. Saif al-Gaddafi, as Dr Sadiki, says Ibrahim spoke the language of democracy, even if the "policy is something else."

Two incidents of travel in computer science from the University of Jordan in 2000, the stick in the mind of Dr. Sadiki.

Moussa IbrahimIbrahim rose rapidly through the ranks in the elite of Libya

The first was to intervene to keep the academic Ibrahim after the Jordanian police custody ran out of the student cast ice-cream supplier Petra Street archaeological site.

The second, which took place in University party passed the US Embassy in Amman to heavily, makers of the minibus. Suddenly the vehicle was surrounded by Embassy security and Jordanian intelligence, intelligence officers had been on board: one of the filming of the video camera in the building.

Ibrahim, the fact was the video chat and, taking into account the fact that Libya was still on when the effects of international pariah, were serious.

"I have spent days at the end of the Jordanian intelligence HQ at the same time, my students that Moussa kuulustelivat," Dr Sadiki recalls.

"The night before, fortunately, we had the reception in the UK Ambassador for appealing. So I have to re-connected, the Ambassador of the UK-work secured the release of 12, Moussa: hours later.

"Such as spy-film of the UK-the Ambassador of the Republic and of the myself waited until the intelligence, Moussa Hilton, brought him back to the data is about."

Another witness, who remembers both incidents was the Brieg Powel-then the policy studies, Ibrahim, now lecturer of international relations, University of Plymouth, as the same, of course.

His memory is personale, however, the character that appeared in his older years.

"When I saw him on television, he appeared younger than he actually back then," says Dr. Powel.

"He was amiable fellow. He was apparently quite wealthy, as he used to Turn all these gadgets-video camera, of course, and dictation devices. I remember he used to go to London a lot. "

However, he spent his time in the capital, it is not the Libyan human rights organisations-which, for the most part, opponents Al-Gaddafi had with the community.

Ashur Shamis, London based on a Libyan dissident. says, the majority of his compatriots do not even know the news until he began to Ibrahim bulletins mentioned at the beginning of the conflict.

"He does not come close to us because of his closeness of the Al-Gaddafi regime, because he was a member of the acolyte," says Mr. Shamis.

"Very quickly. He rose. Minutes after, he is a spokesman, he is Minister of information in the following minutes. He is of course very well. "

Fast-moving events is shaking, it is impossible to anticipate the Libya, what happens to Ibrahim. But even if his dedication al-Gaddafi-system is always assigned to him, so too is his years in the United Kingdom, have left their mark.

Intense attacks on media in the Middle East unrest (Reuters)

NEW YORK (Reuters) – journalists have been disabled in popular uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa in more than 500 attacks, some of them fatal, according to a media rights watchdog.

Mohamed Abdel Dayem, program coordinator, on behalf of the Committee to protect journalists in the Middle East and North Africa, said the number of attacks on media in the Middle East and North Africa since the beginning of the year was "unprecedented."

"This has not happened before, not with this intensity and not with this frequency," he said attack.

Dayem said 14 journalists were killed worldwide so far this year with 10 of these deaths in the Middle East and North Africa. Hundreds of other attacks on media in the region included detentions, the destruction of equipment, and death threats.

While the Committee to protect journalists said the freedom of the press has been improved in Egypt and Tunisia since protesters ousted the Presidents of both countries this year, described the situation as only graduating from "terrible to bad."

Access to social networking tools such as Twitter and Facebook will contribute to thwart traditionally tight censorship in the region, experts say, even though it is uncertain whether the unrest in Bahrain, Syria, Yemen, Libya and Saudi Arabia will lead to more democracy.

' It is not possible to fill a sock, many mouths,» said Dayem. "There used to be the number of the mouth was limited and (Governments) could close them all up all the time. This model is no longer tenable. "

Joe Stork, Human Rights Watch Deputy Director for the Northern Africa division, said the uprising had led to a "net gain" for media freedom in the region.

"It is possible to disseminate information from places like Bahrain or Syria in a way that was not possible for 10 years ago. It is just day and night comparison, "said Stork.

"On balance, there is definitely a freer exchange of information, but not because Governments allow it--because they have not had a special, how to control it," he said.

CENSORSHIP IS LESS EFFECTIVE

Limits on the media will be much more difficult to maintain, partly because of greater access to mobile phones and the Internet, said Elliott Abrams, senior fellow for Middle Eastern Studies at the Council on Foreign Affairs think tank.

"It is also because the ' Arab Court ' has the-legitimized censorship even more, just as they have the stolen elections-legitimized and steal public funds," said Abrams.

' Many Governments will continue to try to intimidate journalists physically or through false prosecution ... but it is becoming less and less effective, ' he says.

But Malcolm Smart, Amnesty International's Director for the Middle East and North Africa, said that while some protesters demanding more freedom for journalists, it was too early to say what kind of progress could be made.

"We have seen the emergence of blogger, a citizen journalist ... break through," he said.

Stork said while Egypt seemed to go in a positive direction, freedom of the media had been a break when the country's ruling military Council demanded last month that coverage of Egyptian newspapers had to be approved by the military intelligence Directorate and moral matters.

"The military, of course, not like criticism or critical discussion and they have imposed on the media not to engage in it, and certainly the major outlets are complied with," said Stork.

Dayem warned, if there was no change in Government in some countries, it could lead to tougher media treatment, having an unsuccessful popular uprising in Iran in 2009.

"That certainly has not resulted in a freer media," he said. "In fact, it has resulted in a harsher climate for media in Iran and it has led to almost directly in Iran will be the world's worst jailer of journalists in 2010.
